• July 21 - August 1, 2008

In preparation for our 70th Anniversary concert celebration, the Polish American Folk Dance Company invited two distinguished, talented dancers from the “Mazowsze" State Folk Song and Dance Ensemble in Poland.

For a two-week period, from July 21st to August 1st, Magdalena Ciastek-Zalipska and husband Piotr Zalipski conducted daily workshops for all three dance groups (PAFDC Kids, our newest Junior group, and PAFDC adults). The intense classes included training included ballet, singing, basic and advanced polish folk dancing, professional make-up application, and stage presentation. Our diligent work culminated in learning five new dance suites and several folk songs.

On the final day of the workshop, PAFDC bid a fond farewell to our amazing, talented, and extraordinarily patient instructors by hosting a dance party reception. We all gained an incredible amount of knowledge, polished our technique and will be presenting the newly choreographed, energetic dance numbers to our audience in November.
